Investing in Connected by Water can support your Corporate Social Responsibility goals, provide tax relief (for flood defence schemes), and promote environmental resilience.

Our action plan – responding to the climate emergency

 

  • Working with planning officers and developers on flood and water resilience in new developments, noting changes to Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
  • Supporting early dialogue with developers regarding incorporating flood resilience
  • CbW Nature Based Solutions Programme (Source to Sea), promoting projects on natural flood management, helping with water quality improvements

 

SMART Investment

 

  • We are seeking new investment and funding opportunities
  • Developing a funding strategy and exploring new funding and inward investment opportunities

 

The opportunities

 

  • Creating the right conditions to deliver the government target for 1.5m new homes (nationally)
  • To ensure water is integrated when bringing forward new developments at pace
  • Recognising water as a growth enabler and its role in place making
  • CbW catchment is complementary to the new regional Spatial Development Strategy, helping to support infrastructure and investments influenced by water
  • Investable propositions such as natural flood management and creating opportunities for developers to invest off-site (e.g. BNG targets) supporting conversations on nature-based projects

We are driving development of an Integrated Water Management Plan; a collaborative effort to identify and implement water management solutions.
